Authority and Assembling

All authority ultimately resides with God and he has given authority over the Church to Christ. The Scriptures contain the authority for local churches to exist and show how they are to function. They also provide authority for the church to assemble. There would be no local church if it were not for our "assembling ourselves together". We are taught to not forsake the assembly in Hebrews 10:25. Does this mean one or all assemblies? The authorized purposes for assembling are to worship, pray, hear reports, send preachers, write and send letters, take the Lord's Supper and discipline erring members. Which of these assemblies does Christ say is not important? An assembly is an assembly regardless of the purpose. No assembly is specified in Hebrews 10:25 therefore we should not specify one.
