Calling On The Name of the Lord To Be Saved
What it DOES NOT mean…
- Calling out with one's voice. (Matt. 7:21; Lk. 6:46)
- Just accepting Jesus as Lord. (Matt. 7:21-23)
- Saying a prayer. (Acts 8:22, 13)
- Simply believing in Christ. (Rom. 10:14; Acts 2:21-22, 36-37)
- It is not connected with some kind of religious experience. (Rom. 10:14, 17)
What it DOES mean…
- I must be called before I call on the name of the Lord. (Rom. 10:13-15; 2 Thess. 2:14; Rom. 1:16)
- Call = To Submit. (Acts 9:14; Rom. 10:13-17; Acts 2:21; Matt. 7:21)
- One the Day of Pentecost in Acts 2. (Vs. 21-22. 36-38, 41)
- In the conversion of Saul. (Acts 9:1-11; 22:16)
- Compare Mark 16:15-16 and Rom. 10:13-14.
