Do We Love All of God's Word?
Do we love all of God's Word all of the time like David in Ps. 119?
What do we do with the parts of God's Word that challenge us?
- Tear it up and pay no attention to it? (Jer. 36:22-26)
- Make fun of the messenger? (2 Chron. 36:15-16)
- Read and quote only passages that don’t challenge us: God's love, mercy and grace? (Titus 2:11-14)
- Have only preachers that will "scratch our ears"? (2 Tim. 4:3)
- In a gospel meeting, choose not attend certain nights because of the topic? (1 Cor. 2:1-5)
- Close our eyes and ears to the parts we don’t like? (Acts 28:25-28)
We can learn from the rich young ruler in Matt. 19:16-22…
- He had kept many things from God's Word!
- He asked a great question: "What lack I yet?"
- The Lord revealed to him that his REAL Lord was his possessions!
- He only had ONE THING more important than Jesus and eternal life!
- Do we think God allows us to have a "one sin weakness"?
- We are not permitted to have ANY SIN in our life! REPENT, AND GET RID OF IT: is the Lord's rule!
