This is a story of faith and doubt…
- There was a broad statement to the Jews regarding their faithlessness.
- The father expressed doubt.
- Disciples were told the problem was a lack of faith.
We may need to ask God to help us have stronger faith.
- It is possible to have faith, yet not as strong as it should be.
- The faith you have can be shaken.
- Faith is strengthened through the word.
- The goal: to have faith that fully trusts.
We may need to ask God to help settle our doubts.
- The father in Mark 9 had doubts.
- There will be times when we have doubts, even though we have faith.
- Doubts can be and must be settled.
We may need to ask God to help our disobedience.
- Disobedience is unbelief.
- Every act if disobedience is a crack in our faith.
- Ask God to help us be stronger in the faith and be more obedient.
We may need ask God to help with our rejection of The Word.
- It is possible to have faith and yet reject The Word.
- There may be times when we have a hard time believing God.
- Ask God to help with our lack of confidence in The Word.
We may need to ask God to help us when we fail to use the faith we have.
- The disciples had faith, but they didn't use what they had.
- It's not always a matter of how much faith we have, but using the faith we have - to do what we know.
- Anytime I fail to do what I really know I should, I fail to use the faith I have.
We may need to ask God to help us in the midst of emotional turmoil.
- The father in Mark 9 was frustrated with emotional turmoil over his son.
- Emotional turmoil could plague any of us at any given moment.
- When we are under emotional turmoil, we can still have faith yet struggle.
