Why Do I Need The Bible ?

1. To Know God. (Gen. 1:1; Ex. 5:2; 2 Thess. 1:7-9; Phil. 3:10)
   • God has reveled Himself in creation. (Ro. 1:18-20; Ps. 19)
   • God reveals His nature, character and will for us in His word. (Ex. 33:18; Js. 1:16-17; Rom. 2:4; Eph. 3:3-5)
2. To Know Self.
   • Created in His image. (Gen. 1:26-28; Ps. 139:14)
   • Accountable to His instructions. (Gen. 2:17-3:24; Rom. 14:12)
3. To Know Why I Am Here (purpose).
   • (Eccl. 12:13-14; Lev. 10:1-3; Matt. 22:37-40; 5:16; Rev. 4:11)
4. To Know The Nature and Consequences of Sin.
   • What is sin? (1 Jn. 3:4; 5:17; Js. 4:17; Rom. 3:23; Isa. 1:1-9; 59:1-2)
   • What are the results of sin? (Rom. 6:23; Rev. 20:15; 21:8)
5. To Know What Is True and Build My Faith.
   • (Jn. 17:17; 8:31-32; Rom. 10:17; Heb. 11:1,7)
6. To Prepare For Eternity.
   • Death is certain. (Heb. 9:27; Gen. 5)
   • This world will end. (2 Pet. 3:10)
   • Each one will be judged. (2 Cor. 5:10; Acts 2:36-38)
