Challenges of a Parent In A Corrupt World

• The child's will must be molded and shaped.
• Many things will come up against our efforts.
  • Little respect for authority
  • Questions about God and the Bible undermines their faith.
  • Peer pressure/friends
  • Gender confusion
  • Misplaced priorities. Mt. 6:24, Mat. 10:37, Mat. 13:22

God's Instructions To Parents.

• Begin with the attitude that children are a blessing. Psa. 127
  • Should not be viewed as a burden/curse.
• Have a purpose/goal. Prov. 22-6, Psa. 34:11
• Train your children. Prov. 22:6, Eph. 6:1-4, Prov. 19:18,
  • Instruction. 2 Tim. 1:5, 3:15
  • Discipline. Prov. 19:18, 13:24, 22:15, 23:13-14, Heb. 12:11
  • Be careful what we allow/tolerate. Prov. 12:26
  • Warning them of dangers. Eph. 6:1-4, Acts. 20:31, Ezek. 3:17-19
  • Set proper example. Mat. 5:13-16, 2 Tim. 1:5, 2 Tim. 1:15, 1 Kings 22:51-52, Pro. 20.7
• Watch the influence of friends. Deut. 4:9-10, Eph. 5:15-16, Prov. 12:26,  Prov. 22:24-25
• Give them affection. Titus 2:4, Prov. 13:24
