Is Virtual Worship Really Worship?

By definition, virtual worship is not really worship. Many, though not all, who attempt to justify 'virtual worship' use Matthew 18:20 to do so. Careful study of the context of this passage will help us to better understand its application for us today. We should not use it to justify things for which it was not intended. Partaking of the Lord's Supper is a matter involving the church and not a select group of individuals.  In Col. 11:14 we see a clear distinction of what can be done "in the church" and what can be done "at home". There are problems with the use of Matthew 18:20 to justify partaking the Lord's Supper outside the assembly. We should not make assumptions about what might be permitted in modern times by assuming the New Testament writers lacked the ability to understand modern technology and practices.
