"Lord, I Believe, Help My Unbelief"
Faith is important.
- We cannot please God without faith. (Heb. 11:6)
- Why did God send His Son? (Jn. 3:16)
- The Lord wants every creature to believe. (Mk. 16:16)
- "Things are written that you may believe…" (Jn. 20:30-31)
Faith must be seen.
- Saving faith is more than mere belief.
- "Faith of demons" is not enough. (James 2)
- Some had a cowardly faith. (Jn. 12:42; Matt. 10:28-33)
- True faith will be visible. (Mark 2:3-5)
- The faith that saves will submit to baptism. (Mk. 16:16)
Some have great faith.
- The centurian. (Matt. 8:5-10)
- Canaanite woman. (Matt. 15:5-10)
Weak faith is sometimes seen.
- The apostles. (Matt. 4:18-22; Mark 10:28-31; Matt. 8:23-27)
- Peter (Matt. 14:27-31)
- When bread was forgotten (Matt. 16:5-12)
- It is a "little faith" that worries about food and clothing. (Matt. 6:30-34)
Faith can and must increase.
- The father asked for help. (Mark 9:24)
- The apostles asked the Lord to increase their faith. (Luke 17:5)
The Growth of faith.
- The apostles believed when the witnessed the first miracle. (Jn. 2:11)
- The faith of the Samaritans. (Jn. 4:28-30, 39-42)
- The nobleman. (Jn. 4:46-53)
- Jesus would help the apostles to believe. (Jn. 11:15)
